Chicagoland Reiki
Our mission: to restore balance, train students, and promote the benefits of Reiki
Reiki is an energy system that came to the US from Japan in the late 1930's, and is used to help restore balance that is lost from daily stress and events. Reiki energy helps to promote deep relaxation and eliminate many issues on emotional and physical levels. Reiki means "universal energy" and comes from a higher connection that only works to heal. Reiki provides "energy nourishment" and rids the body of those blocks that leave people feeling drained, helpless and frustrated. Reiki is provided to those who are open to complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), and studies have shown the positive effects of Reiki.
Reiki is growing as a complementary technique and is offered in dozens of hospitals that include Norwegian American Hospital in Rockford, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Swedish Covenant Hospital, University of Chicago Hospital and North Shore Hospitals.
Healthcare workers, massage therapists, acupuncturists, doctors, nurses and even veterinarians are using this amazing and simple technique to help expedite the healing process.
Reiki is not a cure-all by any means, but there is evidence that Reiki has helped to relieve pain, and there are studies that reveal Reiki's positive effects on HIV and cancer remission. (visit www.NCCAM.org).
Learn how to practice Reiki on yourself and others! Use this wonderful self-healing tool to bring peace and balance to your life and to help eliminate pain and stress.
Debbie Walker teaches Reiki level 1 and 2 in the traditional Western technique that has been used in the US for 40 years. This is the most common form of Reiki and students will be able to use the techniques for self-healing and working with others. Private training available for 1 to 4 students
Debbie Walker practices in the Edgewater neighborhood in Chicago.

As a Reiki practitioner, Debbie uses this amazing, yet gentle energy system to help release blocks that are stuck somewhere in a person or animal's bio-energy field, commonly known as an aura, so that the body can begin to self-heal.
Debbie focuses on pain, stress management and prevention, and specializes in pre and post-operative surgery stress management.
Consult with your medical doctor if you are on any medication before beginning treatment and inform them that you are using CAM therapies.
